Chasing the Sun: A Canadian's Quest at Moab Rocks

They say the early bird catches the worm, but in my case, the early Canuck catches the desert dust! As a proud Canadian, the allure of Moab Rocks was too tempting to resist, especially since it meant trading my fat bike for my mountain bike a bit earlier than usual.

Why Moab Rocks… Eh?

Picture this, a Canuck, bundled up in layers to brave the cold Canadian winter, dreaming of the mythical red rocks of Moab. With spring barely starting to thaw the Great White North, the idea of pedaling through the stunning desert landscapes of Utah was the beacon of warmth my soul craved. So, why not pack up the truck and thaw out in style?

Winter Escape Plan: Moab Rocks became my ultimate winter escape plan. While most of my friends were back home, riding the indoor trainers, shoveling driveways and scraping ice off their windshields, I was soaking up the sun in Moab, embracing the early taste of spring on two wheels. The snow may have still been lingering in Canada, but in Moab, it was all about the thrill of shedding layers and feeling the sun on my face.

Red Rocks and Stunning Vistas: Sure, I could have waited for the summer months, but where's the fun in that? Moab Rocks promised not just epic trails but the added excitement of early spring conditions. Dodging the occasional rattlesnake (kidding, I never actually saw one) and cacti added a dash of adventure to the race—something my friends back home would be jealous of!

As a Canadian navigating the early stages of spring, Moab Rocks was my ticket to sun-soaked trails, red rock vistas, and a cultural exchange of "sorries" and singletracks. Trading the lingering winter chill for the desert warmth was a decision worth every pedal stroke. So, to my fellow Canadians contemplating an early spring escape, I say, pack your bike, embrace the adventure, and let Moab Rocks be your playground in the sun!
